Kirkjufell Mountain, Grundarfjörður

from £49.99

Kirkjufell, rising sharply above the town of Grundarfjörður on Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Peninsula, is one of the most iconic and photographed mountains in the country, often called “the most beautiful mountain in Iceland.” Its name means “Church Mountain,” a reference to its steep, symmetrical shape that resembles a church steeple. At its base lies Kirkjufellsfoss, a small yet graceful waterfall that flows in three steps, providing a picture-perfect foreground to the mountain.
